Virgin money have come up with a new offer on their credit card – 16 months interest free on balance transfers and 6 months interest free on purchases. The average interest rate (APR) is 16.6%, so slightly higher than it was before. This is an awesome offer – it means you can transfer existing balances onto your new virgin card and then leave it for almost a year and a half without accruing any interest. If for example you moved £4000 onto it you would effectively be saving around £1000 (16 months interest) 16 months interest free is the best balance transfer offer on the market – and although there is a 2.98% charge for moving balances, this should easily be recouped by the length of the interest free period.
