| RSA Launches Online-Only Car Insurance | |

RSA, the FTSE 100 international insurance group, has launched an online-only car insurance scheme called ‘RSA echoice’. If you are looking out for student car insurance then the RSA hope that this new online product will give old and young drivers flexibility and control by allowing people to tailor their car insurance according to their own particular preferences. RSA says that the product is ‘fast, simple and above all great value.’ At the moment, RSA echoice car insurance is only available through the RSA’s echoice.com website and moneysupermarket.com but it is anticipated that it will be rolled out across other car insurance comparison sites in the near future. Head of car insurance at RSA, Keith Maxwell, explained the philosophy behind the new type of car insurance: “RSA echoice is all about empowering the customer to take complete control of their insurance. Our customers want to be able to pick and mix their covers, rather than buying an off-the-shelf package as traditionally provided by insurers. RSA echoice not only enables them to do this but also helps ensure that customers will only ever pay for the cover they want and need.” As a car insurance policy that you administer yourself, the RSA echoice product will allow you to log in to your account at any time to add cover as and when needed. In theory the reduction in staff required to administer the accounts should mean a cheaper like-for-like policy.
