| Car Insurance Premiums Rising | |

Now more than ever is the time to be comparing student car insurance with a fine-tooth comb. The AA have recently that the cost of comprehensive car insurance premiums had risen by over 12 per cent during April and June 2010. The jump in premium costs is the steepest since the AA started to track prices in the 1990s. And the organisation says that they expect the cost of premiums for comprehensive car insurance to continue their rise in the future. A typical annual premium for young persons’ car insurance rose by 16 per cent to over £1,200 for third party cover. Much of the rise in car insurance premiums has been put down to false personal injury claims being lodged. We all have probably heard of someone who has received a rather tidy sum for a fictitious whiplash claim. And these trumped-up claims, along with other rising costs for the car insurance industry, are fuelling a surge in the cost of car insurance for young drivers and the general motorist. The irony of the situation is that these increases in the price of car insurance come at a time when there is evidence that the number of road accidents and incidents of car crime are actually falling quite dramatically. Edmund King, president of the AA, pointed out however that these figures were not highlighting the number of fraudulent claims which have increased during the recession. King said, “Last week’s crime figures suggested crime levels were falling but crucially it missed a new 21st Century wave of fraud, such as providing false information and claiming for non-existent personal injuries, which just isn’t being picked up.” We want you to pick up the best deals on cheap car insurance whenever you need the cover.
