O2 Join Mobile Broadband Revolution!!
Entering the market late, O2 have backed up their current home broadband with their new mobile broadband service.  As with T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and 3 before them, O2 are helping to promote a world without wires, where you can be online almost anywhere, all you need is your laptop and a USB modem.

So what’s different between O2 and the others?

O2 are offering 2 very simple contract plans with a ‘plug and play’ modem, so you will be online within minutes:

Mobile Broadband from o2

1. £20 per month plan for 3GB download per month and up to 3.6 Mbps. The USB stick that you plug into your laptop to access the internet is FREE.
2. £20 per month with 3GB download and same speed, but on a rolling 1 month contract.  This may sound more appealing but the price you pay is having to fork out £99.99 for the USB modem at outset.

Not sounding very different so far?  OK, well there are a few other big benefits gained from choosing O2 as your mobile broadband provider.  Firstly, each tariff offers unlimited access to 7,500 Wi-Fi hotspot locations across the UK. Secondly, O2 mobile broadband customer are being offered Free 22MB home broadband for 12 months. So while you’re out with your USB stick other people can still be online at home.  It also means that you can spread your broadband usage, downloading music and large files at home and saving your 3GB per month allowance for e-mail, MSN etc on the go, as anything used above your 3 GB allowance will be charged at £0.20 per MB.

So how how does it compare to the others?

Well, mobile broadband from 3 and T-Mobile do offer you more in the way of free text, and as yet there are no O2 deals including a laptop with mobile broadband, whereas there are for T-Mobile and 3.  Vodafone offer faster transfer speeds as one of their options, but you do have to pay a little more for the privilege.  O2 also don’t currently offer a Pay as you go mobile broadband offer which may be appealing to some.  So as ever, it’s down to finding the right fit for you.

You can be very confident that O2′s coverage will be excellent, so if you fancy mobile broadband with free home broaand chucked in, this could be your deal.  Find out more about O2 mobile broadband or view other mobile broadband or home broadband deals to find the best broadband deals for you
